Chef

Manor Grange is currently recruiting for a Chef.

Applicants should hold all relevant qualifications for this position including City and Guilds Catering, an SVQ in catering and food safety/hygiene certificate etc. Strong leadership, good communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for this post. A proven ability to manage a busy kitchen, build a strong team and the ability to work on your own initiative is also key to this position.

A satisfactory PVG check applies to this position. Desired skills include previous experience in stock management and the dietary requirements and food preparation for elderly clients.

The position is 30 hours per week and offers excellent rates of pay and a first-class working environment coupled with being part of a motivated and enthusiastic team.

Kitchen Assistant |Full-Time

Manor Grange is currently recruiting for a full-time Kitchen Assistant.

The position will involve assisting the Chef in organising and controlling the efficient and economic production of quality food within the allowed budget, whilst maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in line with EHO regulations.

A Basic Food/Hygiene certificate is required. Good communication skills, verbal and written, as well as good team skills, are necessary for this role. Ability to work on own initiative is also essential. A satisfactory DBS check applies to this position. Experience in food preparation for elderly clients is desired but not essential.

The position is 40 hours a week and offers a competitive rate of pay and a first-class working environment.

Host/Hostess |Part-Time

Manor Grange is currently recruiting for a part-time Host/Hostess to join our team.

Your duties will include ensuring the trollies are fully stocked prior to serving of snacks and meals, ensuring kitchenette areas are fully stocked and clean, assist in clearing tables and the kitchen when required. You will also be required to serve teas and coffees to residents in the morning and throughout the home.

Communication skills are essential for this role as you will be working with our residents at all times, you will play an important part in making sure they feel welcome and at home with us.

A basic food hygiene certificate is required for this role and you’ll have great team skills too. The ability to work on your own initiative is also essential. A satisfactory DBS check applies to this role.

Nurses |Night Shift

Manor Grange is seeking to recruit experienced Nurses to join their friendly night shift team – assistance will be given to help revalidate exceptional candidates. The purpose built care home in Pinkhill, Edinburgh has been finished to an extremely high standard and has a host of luxurious features available to their residents including a putting green, Cinema Room and Hair Salon amongst other features. 

The home provides excellent standards of nursing care for elderly residents, including those with dementia. The approach at Manor Grange is not just meeting the care needs of their residents but exceeding their expectations and ensuring their health, wellbeing and interests are looked after at all times. 

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, be motivated to offer the highest standards of care
to our residents and be interested in continuing personal professional development. Manor Grange expects candidates to be able to undertake all appropriate aspects of nursing care required in a Care Home environment. Responsibilities will include assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for residents to ensure continuity of care. 

All applicants must have a genuine interest in working with the elderly and
either be qualified RGN/RMN or ready to revalidate – the management team are happy to assist with the revalidation process. Exemplary communication skills are essential and applicants must be able to communicate on a variety of levels in fluent English. You must either be, or be willing to become, a member of the Disclosure Scotland PVG scheme. In return you will become part of an experienced and dedicated team led by management who really care about their residents and their staff. Personal development is actively encouraged at Manor Grange with many of our team gaining professional qualifications obtained through development in the home.

Experience in care for the elderly and previous supervisory experience would be advantageous for this role but is not essential. 
Full-time and part-time positions are available with a rate of pay of £17 p/h.

Carers & Care Assistants | Day Shift

Manor Grange is seeking to recruit Care Assistants and Carers to join their friendly team including bank staff.

The home provides excellent standards of care for elderly residents, including those with dementia. The approach at Manor Grange is not just meeting the care needs of their residents but exceeding their expectations and ensuring their health, wellbeing and interests are looked after at all times. 

Your main responsibility will be to provide personal care for their residents, attending to their needs by recognising and facilitating the personal requirements of each resident. You’ll also be closely involved in the general activities of the home, and responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, staff members, and visitors.

Applicants must have a genuine interest in working with elderly residents within a caring environment. A willingness to participate in Vocational Training Programmes is essential. Applicants should be able to communicate effectively and fluently at all levels and be comfortable working as part of a friendly team. An SVQ in care is not necessary for this post although it would be an advantage. You must either be, or be willing to become, a member of the Disclosure Scotland PVG scheme. You will be required to register with the SSSC.

Full time and part-time day positions are available for this post with excellent rates of pay, a first-class working environment and a motivated and enthusiastic team. Additional benefits include a pension scheme and supporting further progression of individuals.

Team Leaders | Night Shift

Manor Grange is looking to recruit full-time Night Shift Team Leaders to join their friendly night shift team.

Team Leaders will support training, induction, and supervision of junior and new staff members in providing excellent personal care to support our resident’s daily needs. They will also administer medicines, and undertake the re-ordering on a monthly basis, as required in accordance with policies and procedures, as well as assisting in building relationships between staff and residents.

Team Leaders will also be expected to develop person-centered care plans, complete and update assessments, review the care plans monthly, organise and hold reviews with the residents or family members.

An SVQ 3 in care is necessary for this position, as is previous management/supervisory experience. Previous experience of administering medication is preferred.  You must either be, or be willing to become, a member of the Disclosure Scotland PVG scheme. You will be required to register with the SSSC. A willingness to participate in Vocational Training Programmes is essential.

The position is 38.5 hours and offers an excellent rate of pay and a first-class working environment coupled with being part of a motivated and enthusiastic team.

Domestic/ Laundry Assistant

We are looking to recruit a full-time Domestic/Laundry Assistant to join our team.

The successful candidate will work as part of a team to maintain a high standard of cleanliness of linen, towels and residents’ personal clothing, and to ensure an adequate supply of these items at all time. Successful applicants will also work as part of a team to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the Care Home, whilst ensuring a safe, comfortable environment at all times.

Experience working with an elderly care environment would be advantageous but is not essential for this role. Applicants should be able to communicate effectively and fluently at all levels and be comfortable working as part of a team. Mini Bus Driver | Part-time 

We are looking to recruit a part-time Minibus Driver/Activities Coordinator to join our friendly Activities Team. 

The successful candidate will work with our Activities Co-ordinator by transporting residents to and from outings. You will be required to help residents on and off the bus, including assistance for wheelchair users, ensuring each person has a comfortable journey.

A full clean driving licence is required for this position and either a PCV license or the provision to drive a minibus on their standard license.

The position is 21 hours and offers excellent rates of pay and a first-class working environment coupled with being part of a motivated and enthusiastic team.
