Life at Manor Grange Care Home

Every day is different here at our Edinburgh care home. Our hardworking Activities Coordinators are able to offer an ever-changing calendar of activities, including trips and events designed to be enjoyed by our residents. We love nothing more than seeing our residents engaged and excited with something they have created or dancing to a song that reminds them of their past. If residents decide they’d rather do their own thing, they have the freedom to do so. We want all residents to live their lives exactly the way they want to so that they feel comfortable and content in their endeavours.

Getting Out And About

We are delighted to be located within such an idyllic location of Edinburgh. With a golf course directly behind the home and Edinburgh Zoo across the street, there is so much to do within a short distance of Manor Grange. If residents want to delve further into the capital, they don’t need to worry about taking public transport, as our chauffeur car service is one of the many perks offered to residents. Residents can sit back and relax while they are driven to their requested destination.

We believe our care home in Edinburgh truly is one of the most pleasant places to live in Scotland, especially for the older individual. There are so many stunning spots in Edinburgh that residents can visit during their stay. Fantastic historic sites include Edinburgh Castle, St Margaret’s Place and Arthur’s Seat; a stunning extinct volcano with breathtaking views of Edinburgh. Mary King’s Close, Linlithgow Palace, and the Royal Botanic Garden are also just a few of the fantastic attractions that Edinburgh has to offer.

Residential Care

Residential Care is the best care option for individuals needing assistance with daily tasks such as bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene. Residential care, allows residents to treat our home as their own and go about their everyday activities as they usually would, taking advantage of the various services and amenities on offer.

A Residential home enables senior adults to live in a group setting rather than alone, allowing them to socialise with like-minded people whilst receiving personalised care from our incredible care team.

Dementia Care

Dementia is a long-term, degenerative condition that affects a number of functions, including speech, memory and communication. With the proper care and attention, people living with dementia can continue to live their lives to the fullest while continuing the pursuit of their favourite activities at our well-equipped care home.

Our goal is to help residents maintain their sense of self and independence for as long as possible. At Manor Grange Care Home, we recognise that no two individuals living with dementia are the same. While some may only need minor assistance at the start, needs may change over time as the condition progresses, therefore we ensure to reassess when the time is right.

Nursing Care

Our home offers nursing care which is a care type suitable for those who are in need of constant medical and personal care. Our highly-trained and experienced team can administer medication, assist those with physical disabilities, and provide a high quality of care for residents with long-term illnesses and conditions.

We want our residents to live a comfortable and content lifestyle every day at our nursing home, that’s why our care team works tirelessly to ensure every individual is being looked after to the best of their ability. We offer many forms of entertainment and activities for everyone to be a part of, no matter what challenges someone may be dealing with. We welcome family and friends to spend time with their loved ones at any time so that special moments are never missed.

Respite Care

Respite care is a care type that gives short-term care for someone who needs assistance for a period of time. The Manor Grange team offers personalised care and support to help reduce the stress from someone’s life, whether someone has fallen, is recovering from an illness, or a carer needs a break from duties.

No matter how long someone needs to stay with us, all residents receive only the highest-quality respite care until they are fully ready. Respite care can also be used as a way of trialling at a stay at a care home before making the transition to move in permanently.
