Scottish Minister for Social Care Visits Manor Grange Care Home

Residents at Manor Grange Care Home were delighted to welcome Maree Todd, Scottish Minister for Social Care, Mental Health & Sport, for a special visit. During her time at the home, she enjoyed chatting with residents about life at Manor Grange, sharing their experiences, and admiring our lovely home.
The visit coincided with an anticipated announcement regarding Anne’s Law, a significant step forward in ensuring that care home residents have the legal right to in-person visits from their loved ones during any future pandemics. This law has been introduced in response to the profound isolation experienced by care home residents during the COVID-19 pandemic and acknowledges the vital role that designated family members and friends play in a resident’s wellbeing.

Residents appreciated the opportunity to speak directly with a member of the Scottish Government, voicing their thoughts and experiences on such an important issue. The visit was a great reminder of the importance of resident voices in shaping policies that support their rights, wellbeing, and quality of life.

At Manor Grange, we are committed to providing a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment where residents feel truly at home. If you’d like to learn more about our care, or arrange a visit, please get in touch with our friendly team today.
