Large Garden at Manor Grange Care Home

Therapeutic Gardens

Our gardens and outdoor areas provide the best therapy to those who enjoy a more relaxed pace of life, and those who like to sit back, relax and watch the world go by. Whether it’s for a leisurely stroll, an afternoon tea with family, or a chance to do some gardening, our residents have plenty of outdoor opportunities at their fingertips.

When the weather allows, we at Manor Grange Care Home try to make the very most of the very fresh air, often by hosting our entertainment and activities outside, as well as al-fresco dining. No matter how they wish to do it, we actively encourage our residents to reap the benefits of the great outdoors.

Our Therapeutic Gardens & Outdoor Facilities

Our entire ethos centres on the word ‘home’. It’s crucial that Manor Grange feels like home and offers home comforts, both inside and out. Our beautiful home features an extensive, landscaped garden which is extremely popular with residents and families. Our private garden provides the ideal outside area for our residents to relax and watch the wildlife go by, enjoy a spot of gardening or meet up with friends and family ‘al-fresco’. Our staff goes to great efforts to create activities that may be enjoyed outside, ensuring residents are able to make the most of our therapeutic and charming garden.

Sit Back & Relax

From birds to bugs, our gardens are graced with the most magnificent wildlife, and sometimes just taking a moment to observe these creatures is enough to feel connected with the outdoors. When we’re lucky enough to have some sunshine, we encourage residents to embrace our wonderful outdoor spaces. Our large enclosed garden to the rear of the home boasts scenic views across Carrick Knowe Golf Course. Residents also have access to a sheltered patio area as well as a balcony area which is on the upper floor of the home. Whether residents wish to read a book, complete a crossword or enjoy taking their meals outside, our therapeutic gardens are the perfect place to sit back and relax.

Therapeutic Gardens FAQs

We are firm believers in offering our residents regular opportunities to step outside, breathe in fresh air, participate in outdoor activities, and relish the beauty of nature. Embracing the outdoors brings numerous mental and physical advantages, including stress and anxiety reduction, enhanced mood, improved cardiovascular health, balance and muscle strength.

We organise various outdoor activities, including walks, gardening, lawn games, and events. When the weather is warm, residents also have the opportunity to dine outside and enjoy live entertainment.

To ensure that our gardens are accessible to all, we have incorporated wheelchair-accessible paths and provided comfortable seating for residents. The private garden is designed with safety in mind, featuring secure fencing and gates to prevent residents from wandering beyond the garden perimeters.
