Christmas Movie Afternoon with Local School

Manor Grange Care Home, committed to fostering connections with the local community, recently welcomed local children for a heartwarming Christmas movie afternoon. Local children with additional support needs and students from Craigmount High School enjoyed a special cinema experience in Manor Grange's dedicated cinema room.

Throughout December, our care home in Edinburgh organised several events as part of community building. The aim was to strengthen ties and create meaningful engagement between Manor Grange and residents in the local community.

The highlight of the Christmas movie afternoon was that children had the opportunity to relish a cinematic experience in an intimate and relaxed setting. Manor Grange's cinema provided a tranquil environment, free from the stress of large public cinemas, which may not always be sensitive to the sensory impairments some children may face.

Parents and guardians expressed their appreciation for the thoughtfully curated setting, noting that their children appeared more relaxed and engaged with the movie in this cosy atmosphere.

One of the children was excited to showcase his piano skills by playing a few tunes on the grand piano in the reception lobby. Bystanders who watched and listened were highly impressed by his piano-playing, and we were delighted to see him perform.

Residents at Manor Grange Care Home were equally delighted by the visit of the children. Witnessing the joy on the young faces, especially when Santa made an early appearance, brought happiness to the residents. The event not only provided a memorable experience for the children but also created a heartwarming intergenerational connection that Manor Grange values deeply.

The positive feedback from both families and residents has prompted Manor Grange to make the Children's Christmas Movie a recurring annual event. This initiative reflects the care home's ongoing commitment to creating inclusive and joyful experiences for both residents and the wider community.

Manor Grange Care Home looks forward to continuing its tradition of spreading festive cheer and building lasting connections with the community in the years to come.
